This unique concert featured Japanese music for organ, marimba and Taiko drums. Entitled Fujin Raijin – the Japanese gods of Wind and Thunder, respectively – the program included works from contemporary Japanese composers for solo organ and solo marimba; a piece written for organ and one Taiko drummer rarely played in the United States; and a newly commissioned piece for the entire ensemble.

The ensemble of musicians included organist Rhonda Sider Edgington from Holland, MI; percussionist Carolyn Koebel from Kalamazoo; Taiko drumming artist Ken Koshio from Phoenix; marimba player Judy Moonert from Kalamazoo; and members of Michigan Hiryu Daiko Taiko Drummers.
