Founded in 1995, vocal ensemble Tapestry has established an international reputation for its bold conceptual programming – combining medieval and traditional repertory with contemporary compositions.
The ensemble has won numerous awards, including WQXR and Chamber Music America's Recording of the Year and the prestigious Echo Klassik Prize for their recording Sapphire Night.
In turns celebratory and solemn, “Lessons of Darkness” commemorates the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day, marking the end of World War I. Tapestry will present works of composers affected by the war – Rachmaninoff, Debussy and Ravel, among others. The program will also touches on iconic wartime works.
Tapestry will be joined in this program by internationally renowned pianist Arsentiy Kharitonov.
